Browsers such as Chrome are generally a great thing and allow you to open multiple tabs and research, listen to the music, to be present on social networks, and many other things at the same time.
However, these multiple tabs can sometimes count more than 20, 30, or even more simultaneously opened tabs, which makes their management a bit complicated. For that reason, there are multiple shortcuts that can help you with your navigation through tabs and help you get better overall control and easier switching between tabs.
How to Switch Between Tabs in Chrome
In the case of Chrome, these are the key combinations you need to use.
- If you want to move to the next tab to the right, in your browser, you need to use Ctrl + Tab command, which is the same for Windows, Mac, Chromebook, or Linux.
- Another option is to use Ctrl + PgDn that is functional on Windows,
or Fn + Control + Down Arrow that will work on Mac.
- In case you want to switch to the other side and move to the first tab on the left, you will need to press Ctrl + Shift + Tab (this will work on Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.), or use some of the other options.
- You can use the Ctrl + PgUp that works on Windows,
or Fn + Control + Up Arrow if you use Chrome on Windows.
- Also, if you need to move to the first or the leftmost tab, you will be required to press Ctrl+1 on your keyboard (in the case of Windows, Linux and Chromebook),
if it is the second Ctrl+2 and so on, up until Ctrl + 8.
- In the case of Mac, the situation is similar, with the difference that you need to press Command instead of Ctrl, or in other words, Command + 1, up until Command + 8, depending on what tab you want to move to.
